Ribbon Pakoda


  • 1 cup brown rice flour
  • 1 cup gram flour
  • 3/4 tsp pepper powder(coarse)
  • 1 tbsp coconut butter
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida powder
  • salt & water – as needed


Mix rice flour, gram flour, pepper powder, coconut butter, asafoetida and salt well. Add little water at a time and make a stiff dough. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C for 10 mins and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Fill the murukku press with the prepared dough, with the ribbon pakoda plate. Press the dough on the tray in a circular way to form a single layer. Just one layer to ensure even and quick cooking. Bake for 10-15 mins and flip once after about 6-7 mins. Store in an airtight container.
