Cracked Wheat Porridge with Coconut Milk & Ginger


  • 4 tbsp cracked wheat
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp date paste
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • Melon seeds, to garnish


Mix the cracked wheat and water until no lumps remain. Cook for about 5 minutes on medium heat, until the cracked wheat is cooked. Stir briskly all the while. Add date paste and ginger and turn the heat off. Top with coconut milk and melon seeds. Serve.


Replace cracked wheat with ragi.

Replace ginger with cinnamon & cardamom.

Replace coconut milk with soy, nut or rice milk.

Serves 1
