Whole Wheat Pizza with Vegan Cheese

Ingredients for the Dough

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp dry yeast
  • ½ cup of warm water
  • pinch of salt

Ingredients for the Topping

  • raw cashew cheese
  • tomato sauce
  • thinly diced vegetables – capsicum, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, mushrooms, etc.
  • basil leaves
  • olives
  • jalapeño (optional)
  • gomasio (optional)


Mix dry yeast with little warm water and let it rise. You can add a little date paste to help it rise.

Mix the bubbled yeast to the wheat flour. Add salt and some water and knead well. The dough should not stick to the vessel you are mixing in – add a little more flour if it’s sticking or add a little water if it’s dry. Keep the dough in a warm place and let it rise to double its size.

Spread the raised dough thinly onto a baking pan. Spread 2 tbsp of tomatoes puree sauce on top of pizza dough. Add whole or diced basil leaves on top of tomatoes puree followed by a little cheese spread. Then add desired vegetables & toppings.
Lastly, finish topping with more cheese spread. Put into oven at 375 F or 180 C for 20 minutes.

Serve immediately.
