From the desk of Dr Nandita Shah

Time flies by, and before we know it yet another year is over. As we come into December, it’s time to revisit the year that has gone by. Also as we age, we realise that nothing is more important than health. It’s something that all the money in the world cannot buy. Even when everything looks wonderful outside, a little ache can cause enough discomfort to make us realise that appearances are deceptive. Given a chance, our body always lets us know when something is wrong. If we listen carefully we can make changes in time to avoid diseases.

For those already suffering from diseases, the good news is that no matter what, the body works to heal. We can learn to assist this healing process and reach our highest health potential. We can never solve a problem by continuing the same lifestyle that caused it. Change is a must.

Are you ready to change for 2017?

Testimonial of Nisha Koiri

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDSLhmahsiY

Nisha Koiri was diagnosed with cancer in the left breast in May this year, and her doctor told her that if she didn’t go for an immediate full mastectomy, then her chances of survival were dim. Today, six months later, she shares with us, her battle with cancer through research, not going for chemotherapy and healing through a change of diet.

I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma i.e cancer in the left breast, in May this year. I was advised immediate full mastectomy and then chemotherapy and radiation. I was informed by the surgeon if I did not undergo immediate surgery then survival after 45 days was difficult.

Somehow the doctor’s prognosis did not agree with me and I started researching about chemotherapy and its effects. To my extreme shock I learnt that chemotherapy drugs totally destroy the immune system, they can kill the cancer cells but cannot kill the cancer stem cells and most importantly the chemo drugs are highly carcinogenic thus cause secondary grade cancer in many cases. I also learnt that cancer cells are present in every one and right from the time of our birth our immune system is taking care of it.. thats when it struck me that.. thats all I have to do is boost my immune system with nutrition which will take care of the active cancer cells in my body.

My search for a nutritionist led me to this wonderful organisation SHARAN I very happily adopted the Whole Foods Plant based lifestyle immediately. Went for their extremely helpful cooking classes too.

Currently my diet is almost 60% – 70% raw and along with Naturopathy and SHARAN’s recommended Whole Food’s Plant based diet with God’s Blessings I am reversing the cancer very happily without absolutely any difficulties.

Two months after following this diet in the month of August 2016 I had done a thermogram which shows absolutely no metastasis. Out of the 2 lumps 1 lump showed benign and the 2nd lump had an inverted. The CA 15.3 tests which I regularly do till date are very much in the normal range thus showing absolutely no metatasis. The lumps are reducing in size day by day.

From the day of my diagnosis i.e May 2016 till date i.e November 2016 (6 months+) I have not missed a single day of my workout or my work (marketing).

My suggestion to all is to take charge of your own health and to live a fully liberated fearless life because if a dis-ease like cancer can be reversed with this soooo delicious lifestyle then Life can truly be BEAUTIFUL with the Whole Foods Plant based diet.

Nature’s Winter Offerings

Nature knows what’s best for us….PERIOD. So when nature grows seasonally, all we need to understand is that this is what’s best for our body at the given point of time. Plus fresh seasonal produce tastes much better and has a high nutritive value. It’s cheaper and environment friendly too.

However do keep in mind, winters differ region to region, so best is to buy local produce. Nature also knows where to grow what you see!

With winter in season, let’s explore some winter fruits and vegetables..

1. Carrots – Did you know that as the temperature drops, carrots get sweeter! That’s their way of defending against the cold! Carrots also contain very little fat and are a rich source of vitamin A and C. They promote anti-ageing naturally too! So crunch away this season!

2. Beetroots – Cold tends to leave our skin dry, so nature has come up with its own moisturiser – beets! They are the best winter foods for a glowing skin as they have skin enhancing nutrients and are also great for oily and acne prone skin. Don’t forget to use the leaves too!

3. Green peas – Enjoy the sweetness of green peas these winter months. Peas contain minerals, vitamin B-complex and folic acid. So instead of freezing them for later use, which does affect the nutrition content, have them fresh when they are in season.

4. Radish – White and red, both are great for minerals including calcium too.

5. Broccolli, Cauliflower & Cabbage – These three can grow throughout the winter at home too! And did you know these can be enjoyed raw too?

6. Winter greens– include spinach, mustard greens, fenugreek, amaranth leaves and more….each comes with its rich nutrients, best to be absorbed through green smoothies.

7. Pumpkins and yams – Get this brightly coloured vegetables into your menu this season. Nature only knows how to give, as each colour comes with its own benefits.

8. Squash, turnips, parsnips, purple cabbage – to name a few more, with each having something special to offer.

9. Oranges, pomegranates, papayas. pears, berries. kiwis, passionfruit, grapefruits, plums – to name a few! But please don’t juice them….have them whole!
