Coconut Milk Kheer/Payasam
- 1 cup unpolished rice/ ragi noodles
- 1 coconut – milk removed
- 1/2 cup chopped dates/raisins
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 3 tbsp cashews/ raisins/ almonds (roasted)
Cook the ragi noodles or rice. Mix the dates/raisins with coconut milk. Heat the coconut milk and add it to the noodles or rice. Flavor with cardamom and nuts.
Note- Coconut Milk is not whole and is used for special occasions.
This dish can be made with different varieties of vermicelli, rice and daals like mung dal, chana dal etc.
