Sweet Potato & Date Halva

  • 1 cup chopped sweet potato, steamed and mashed
  • ¾ cup minced seedless dates
  • ¼ tsp lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  • ⅛ tsp unrefined salt
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ cup golden raisins
  • 1 tbsp slivered almonds, to garnish


Thoroughly blend mashed sweet potato, minced dates, lemon juice, salt and cardamom powder. Press this in an even layer into the bottom of a parchment lined flat dish. Garnish with golden raisins, nutmeg and slivered almonds. Chill in refrigerator and cut into pieces before serving.
