Moist Chocolate Cake


  • 1½ cups whole wheat flour
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp unrefined salt
  • ¾ cup jaggery
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup coconut milk


Preheat the oven to 180 ºC and prepare a 30 cm square baking tin lined with parchment paper. Mix the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the jaggery and vanilla extract and add the coconut milk and vinegar. Stir this into the dry ingredients gradually and mix well. Pour the batter into the prepared baking tin and bake for 30 minutes in the pre-heated oven.

You can also make muffins with this mixture, but bake them only for 20 minutes.

Serves 6


This recipe contains jaggery and is not suitable for those who are working on disease reversal.
