Lentil Bread

  • 1 cup split black gram (urad dal)
  • 1 cup split green gram (mung dal)
  • Unrefined salt


Wash both the dals. Soak separately in water for 4 -5 hours.

Rinse and drain the soaked dals. Grind both the dals separately.

Now mix the batters of both the dals together and add salt. Keep the batter aside in a warm place for 7-8 hours, to ferment.

Steam the batter for 5 – 10 minutes.  After the steamed bread cools down, slice it.

Spread green chutney or peanut butter on it and garnish with cucumber, tomato, etc.
