Testimonials from previous retreat at Pune –

  1. I think unknowingly started the celebration last night itself by sharing a bit of good news – my cholesterol has dropped by 50 points, in the last 15 days.
  2. My experience of the DefEat Diabetes Retreat was eye opening, heart-warming and inspiring.
From feeling hopeless and demotivated, I went to feeling empowered and confident.
I can’t thank Dr Lakshmi and Chef Neelima enough, for making this retreat happen.
Even though I had attended several online trainings and done much research into diabetes, I was surprised to discover that I have been making many mistakes, which have been holding back my progress.
Dr Lakshmi shared clear and practical knowledge about all relevant aspects of lifestyle, and I started building these good habits, right in the retreat itself.
Chef Neelima put together a magnificently diverse, creative and delicious spread of wholesome meals every day.
I started to see my blood sugars drop in literally a couple of days.
I can now clearly see what I can do, and what I can avoid, for better health, and feel confident that I will see sustained change in time.
The verdant venue with the lake, birds and butterflies was just the perfect setting for the transformation to unfold.
I thoroughly enjoyed the intimate group setting, along with a schedule that was rich and yet left space for personal reflection.
My only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner.
For anyone setting out on a lifestyle approach to health, I would highly recommend the DefEat Diabetes retreat as the first, most effective and most efficient step towards building good health.
Thank you again, Dr Lakshmi and Chef Neelima!

  3. Dear Dr. Lakshmi and Chef Neelima, thank you so much for 5 days of learning, laughter and feasting on delicious, yet healthy food!
Dr. Lakshmi – so knowledgeable, so experienced, so evidence based, so patient, so compassionate, so confidence inspiring and so inspirational!
Chef Neelima – so talented, so energetic, so hardworking, with magic in your fingers, empowering and encouraging us to be able to sustain this diet and lifestyle!
Both of you so full of fun, quickly fostering a sense of friendship and community within the group, making the short stay one of warmth and camaraderie.
The proof of the diet and lifestyle was soon evident on the face of each and every participant – that inflammation and water retention were quickly disappearing. The participants who were monitoring blood glucose could soon see the effect in dropping blood sugar values!
We have had a magical time here. It felt like a holiday and we go back empowered and refreshed. The serene, green and calm surroundings also played a part.
I shall surely miss the lovely group, the fabulous food, the lovely walks, the sound of birdsong, the fresh air and the warm and fun-filled times that we have shared!
I look forward to attending future retreats with you!
Until we meet again, stay blessed 🙌
    ~ Rosemary P
