A Video by Dr G D Agarwal
Dr G D Agarwal has gained so much by going on a whole plant based diet that he actually has created a video on youtube in Hindi called Khaana Badlo Jeevan Badlo, so that more people can start benefitting! He has also dubbed CNN’s “The Last Heart Attack” in Hindi so that many more can benefit. Here he shares his and his wife Renu’s journey towards Health….
Renu was suffering with SARCOIDOSIS since 1999. Her left lung was affected. There was massive enlargement of abdominal and thoracic lymph nodes. There were many skin lesions. Liver was affected also. Later on we found that her heart was also involved, her ECG was not normal.(she had to undergo coronary angiogram because of it). Climbing stairs of even one floor was a big nightmare. Whole day & night she incessantly coughed. She was on steroids for 10 years.
In 2010 our whole family switched to a whole plant based diet. She became off steroids within 15 days. During subsequent months her tests became normal. Today she can climb five stories in one breath.
I am a surgeon by education. I was suffering with hypertension and diabetes. After switching to a whole plant based diet I lost 10 kg of weight, free of hypertension and achieved almost 70% reduction in diabetic medications. Today I am active from morning till night & full of energy, and I am passionate about spreading this message.

Tahini Bliss Balls
There are many ways to use sesame seeds. Simply sprinkle them on top of your salads or add them in your baked breads. Garnishing them along with lemon juice on steamed broccoli tastes delicious. Even the sesame seed paste ‘tahini’ makes a good sandwich spread or a salad dressing. Or just have them added to a seed mix as a mouth freshener….
The Tahini Bliss Balls are really easy to make and can be a good option when a sweet craving arises….
Ingredients :
- 200g of dates, chopped and pitted
- ½ cup of tahini (sesame butter)
- 100g dried apricots or figs chopped
- 1 cup of dried coconut flakes
Method:
In a large bowl put the dates and cover with boiling water. Leave this to soak for half an hour. Strain the water off the dates into a separate bowl and mash them slightly. Don’t throw the date water away because you may need to add this to the mix if it becomes too dry to work with although the mix should remain firm. Add to the dates the tahini, cocoa, fruit, nuts and seeds and mix.
Pour this over the amaranth puffs. Mix well and then roll handfuls of the mixture into balls, compacting them together by squeezing a little. This is done easier with wet hands. Then roll each ball in the coconut and refrigerate.
