This year, SHARAN completes 20 years of helping people prevent and reverse lifestyle diseases through simple and powerful lifestyle changes. When I started, I believed that everyone would want to reclaim their health naturally. But I soon realised how deeply we’ve been conditioned to depend on medicines rather than trust the body’s own ability to heal.
Today, more and more people are rethinking health, especially as the side-effects and risks of medications become clearer. This shift has created a growing demand for knowledge and empowerment — and I am grateful to see so many who transformed their own health through SHARAN now helping to spread the message.
Just this week, I heard from three such changemakers:
- • Oasis Movement, which has been spreading this message since 2019, is now conducting its own 21-Day Health Retreat and recently sent a powerful newsletter on veganism to all its members.
- • Mr. Bharat Shah, head of Sigma Pharmaceuticals in the UK, whose diabetes reversal success was recently featured on Plant-Based News, reached out to discuss expanding our reach further.
- • Max Chavda in Canada, a participant of our 2016 21-Day Retreat and now a health coach, shared his new book Reversing Diabetes: A Plant-Based Approach with me.
Every person who heals becomes an inspiration for others. And those who step forward to support others amplify this mission many times over.

Meet Vegan Queen Nidhi Nahata
Recently Shalini Batra published ‘Vegan Queens’, a book showcasing 50 amazing women and their journey towards veganism. We are so happy to note that some of the women have been inspired by SHARAN and found their calling. Here we are sharing an excerpt from the journey of Nidhi Nahata who started a wonderful restaurant called JustBe in Bangalore after attending our 21 Day Health Retreat!
My journey began not with an idea to change the world, but with a simple desire to heal myself. I was suffering from high cholesterol, migraines and rosacea. I had accepted these as a part of life just like so many of us do – believing that medication and routine check-ups were the only answers.
But as a mother, I was also watching my children struggle with asthma. Every episode would break my heart, and something deep inside me kept whispering: There has to be a better way. That whisper became my turning point. I had always been a vegetarian, but when I started to really question, and explore, I realised how much dairy and processed food were silently harming us. That is when I came across Dr Nandita Shah and attended a SHARAN retreat. Those few days changed my life.
For the first time, I experienced what it meant to be truly connected to my food – not just eating to survive, but to heal.

Featuring mother & daughter duo Anitha & Christina Ajith, who attended our 7 Day Health Retreat, made bold lifestyle changes that helped Christina reverse lupus.
