From the desk of Dr Nandita Shah...
|
Today’s culture has taught us to believe that more is better— more money, more possessions, bigger cars, more travel, more luxury.
But look closely. Along with “more,” we now also have more hospitals, more medicines, more chronic and lifestyle diseases, bigger medical bills
This culture of constant growth and consumption is quietly taking a toll on our health.
If we could clearly see the connection between industrial growth, chronic stress, and disease, our choices might look very different. But most of us are stuck in a rat race—driven by social expectations and peer pressure.
Our lives are faster than ever. Our relationships are increasingly virtual. Our attention spans are shrinking.
We feel lonelier, less decisive, and constantly in search of the next distraction—because nothing seems to satisfy us for long.
This emotional unrest reflects in the body. And that’s why, despite all medical advances, we are sicker than ever. We barely notice that our food is poorer in quality, our sleep is disturbed, our nervous systems are overstimulated even as we proudly count 10,000 steps a day.
Health doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from living differently. At SHARAN, we are building a culture of health—one that is sustainable, joyful, and rooted in awareness rather than fear.

Health can be resurrected at any age!
Watch how 77-year-old Jati and his 74-year-old wife Manjit had miraculous results in our 21-Day Health Retreat, as they healed and reversed multiple chronic diseases together.
Recipe - Walnut Burfi
Indulge in some healthy sweets this year, which are easy to make, delicious and most importantly – guilt-free!
Ingredients
- ½ cup crumbled tofu
- 1 tbsp sesame butter
- 4-6 tbsp date paste
- ½ cup walnuts
- ½ tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder or cinnamon (dalchini) powder
Method
Coarsely blend all the ingredients together in a blender. Stop when the mixture is still coarse and of an uneven texture. Transfer to a 4″–6″ baking tin or glass container. Using the back of a spoon or spatula spread evenly and smooth the top. Garnish with chopped walnuts if preferred. Place in the refrigerator for an hour to set. Once set, cut into squares and serve.
Note:
This recipe uses many nuts. Please keep your nut limit in mind if you are working on disease reversal.
