Pimples normally appear because of an imbalance in hormonal levels (usually during puberty). Animal products bring in hormones and fat, which can cause acne. Chemicals are hormone disruptors and we ingest them from our food, personal products and surroundings. Our bodies eliminate toxins through the skin, and this can also give rise to pimples. To get rid of breakouts, we need to keep our bodies clean from the inside as well. We can do this by cutting out all animal source foods including dairy, and reducing chemicals and eating a whole food plant-based fibre-rich diet.
