Grow your own Microgreens (Earth Day Special) – Free Event

Category:

Description

We are in midst of global pandemic covid 19 and we have realized that we have disconnected ourselves from mother earth. Several of our so called developmental activities are leading to destruction of habitats of other species resulting in biodiversity loss, zoonotic diseases such as bird flu, SARS, MERS, corona virus, etc. Let us connect on World Earth Day and utilize this lockdown period meaningfully by learning to grow our own microgreens for our family’s daily need of nutrient packed greens for smoothie, salad, soups and much more.

Most of us living in urban cities are anxious about heavy dosage of pesticides and fertilizers used for growing vegetables, fruits, etc. We need to be highly conscious about what we eat as our food as it directly affects our health and can help in prevention and reversing diseases. People are always doubtful about certification of organic veggies and fruits as well as the high cost involved.

Can we grow our own greens and microgreens even in urban settings with small balconies, terrace or without open spaces?

What are micro greens? Are micro greens beneficial for our health? Can we grow microgreens ourselves? How much time and space is needed to grow microgreens for daily family needs?

Do I need to buy seeds? Can we grow microgreens in soil, coco peat, without soil? What can we make with micro greens like smoothies, soups, salads, sandwiches, pizza, etc.? Learn to grow microgreens with 5 different methods and also learn which seeds are suitable for which method.

Find out the answers for all of the above questions and much more with Dr. Suman Govil who is PHD in Botany and has been an advisor in the Biotechnology department for the Govt. of India. She will be herself demonstrating all the ways to create your own beautiful green kitchen garden.

Here is a chance to join her from anywhere in the world from the comforts of your homes.
