I’m Akhila Rao, and I’m 15 years old. I’m currently pursuing the PCB stream in my 11th grade. I’ve been following the SHARAN way of life and a whole food plant-based vegan lifestyle for almost 4 years now. Before this shift, I used to be overweight, lazy, and sluggish all day. I had no energy and even simple tasks felt heavy. The change wasn’t overnight, but it started when I was a vegetarian and discovered SHARAN. My first introduction was in my school library while exploring the biology section. I picked up the book, ‘Reversing Diabetes in 21 Days’, and it moved me deeply. It explained the real causes behind lifestyle issues so clearly that turning vegan felt like the most honest and natural choice for my health and for the planet

Initiating the changes SHARAN recommended truly transformed me. I started eliminating plastics, choosing whole foods over packaged ones, walking every day, stretching, moving more, and spending time in nature. Once I understood the terms of the diet and the ‘why’ behind it, everything became easier. My body responded quickly — I lost weight and reached an ideal weight without struggle. My mental health improved, my concentration and focus became sharp, and student life just became easier. The brain fog I used to carry around was gone. I no longer crave chocolates or processed desserts. If I want something sweet, I naturally reach for plant-based options like dates and apricots.

I’ve even seen physical proof of how my body healed differently after the shift. Before turning vegan, I hurt my finger during a throwball match and the blood clotted. It took almost a month for that finger to heal completely. After my dietary shift, the same incident happened twice — but this time my body healed within 2 weeks. My migraine, which used to trouble me often, vanished in just 3 months. These changes weren’t small to me — they were signs that my body was finally working with me, not against me.

SHARAN didn’t just change what I eat — it changed how I think and live. There’s something I feel inside me now that keeps me consistent with this lifestyle. It’s not about restriction anymore; it’s about clarity, energy, and respect for my body. I’m grateful I found this path at 15, and I carry the lessons from that book and SHARAN’s guidance with me every single day.
