Sharmila Kannan who has been working in the private sector for 30 years followed a close friend’s advice to turn vegan for ethical reasons. Not one to turn her back on something she can connect with, she contacted SHARAN, enrolled for Dr. Nandita Shah’s seminar on “10 Steps to a Life without Medicines” in late 2018, attended their cooking classes to explore the options for vegan food and took the plunge headlong.
So convinced was she of the benefits of Whole Foods Plant Based nutrition that she also participated in SHARAN’s Nutrition Facilitators Program in early 2019 along with her daughter. She has also completed two E-Cornell programs: Plant based Nutrition and Nutrition and Healthy Living. She then completed a brief course in Nutrition, another as a Certified Diabetes Educator and a course in the treatment of Covid -19.
One of her close family members could reverse a 16 year long standing psoriasis issue just by the reversal of diet.
She is also a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and a certified Health & Wellness Coach from American Fitness Professionals and Associates. She is a 200 Hours Trained Yoga Teacher and also holds a specialization in Pregnancy Yoga. She is also a Neuro Linguistic Programmer (NLP) and a Meditation Teacher. She now spreads the awareness of the goodness of the whole plant based diet in resolving lifestyle related diseases in Delhi.
She has been heading the Covid desk at SHARAN, where she is helping patients heal naturally.
