Whole foods are full of fibre. They fill us up and slim us down. They cleanse the body of toxins. So let’s increase our fibre intake from today.
Kitchen Replacements
- Instead of white rice use unpolished rice (brown, red or black).
- Instead of white poha, use brown rice or red rice poha.
- Instead of semolina (rava), use dalia or unpolished millets like Foxtail Millet as semolina is made from polished wheat.
- Instead of white oats or quick cooking oats, use whole rolled oats or steel cut oats.
- Instead of white flour (maida) use whole wheat flour or millet flours.
- Instead of store bought cereals, it’s best to make your own muesli.
Make a list of how you will make the foods on your menu whole. For Example – instead of white rice idlis, you can make red rice idlis or instead of making upma with semolina/ rava, you can make it with foxtail millets/ foxtail millet rava instead.
