Dr Varsha Shah completed her MBBS from BVMC, Pune in 2001, followed by training in Paediatrics at Kashiba Children’s Hospital, Vadodara. She is currently a Professor at SBKS Medical Institute and Research Centre, Vadodara, Gujarat.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, while treating patients, she gained a deeper understanding of immunity and the role of lifestyle in preventing and managing chronic conditions. She also realized that her conventional medical training was largely focused on treating symptoms rather than addressing the root cause of disease. This motivated her to explore lifestyle-based approaches, particularly the impact of a whole food, plant-based diet in enabling people to live disease-free without dependence on medicines.
To advance her knowledge, she completed SHARAN’s training on Whole Plant-Based Nutrition Consultation for Doctors and Nutritionists and subsequently joined the SHARAN team as a medical consultant. She later pursued and earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine (PGDLM) from CMC Vellore.
With over two decades of experience as a paediatrician, Dr Varsha has, since 2020, expanded her practice to treating adults through lifestyle modification, whole food plant-based nutrition, and evidence-based interventions. She regularly conducts awareness talks at schools, colleges, and corporates on healthy living for the prevention and reversal of disease.
Beyond her medical practice, Dr Varsha’s interests include adolescent and parenting counselling, reading, yoga, and spiritual pursuits.
