Methi Thepla

Thepla is generally a spiced roti, which sometimes has leaves of fenugreek or other herbs.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup fresh methi leaves (fenugreek leaves)
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp dhania powder
  • ¼ tsp jeera powder
  • ¼ tsp red chili powder
  • 1 pinch asafoetida
  • salt to taste

Method

Clean and thoroughly wash the methi and chop fine. Add all the spices and mix well. Mix in the whole wheat flour and water and knead into a dough. Make small balls and make into six inch round flat breads by hand or roller pin. Cook on a tawa on both sides.

Variations

You can use any other greens like spinach, dill etc
