Date And Figs Roll


For the filling

  • ½ cup coarsely cut mixture of nuts and raisins
  • few drops vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup desiccated coconut

For the roll

  • ½ cup dried figs
  • ½ cup dates
  • ¼ cup walnuts/almonds
  • ¼ cup rolled oats
  • a pinch of salt


In a food processor, add walnuts and oats and make a coarse powder. Now add the dates, figs, salt and blend till it all clumps together and forms a dough. Mix all the ingredients of the filing and keep aside. Knead the roll dough with hand and just add the filling mixture to it. Mix it well with you hand. Start rolling the dough and form a log. Cover with butter paper and refrigerate for 6-8 hrs or preferably overnight. Cut into discs and serve. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
