Rosemary Parambi

Rosemary has done her MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur. She has also successfully completed the Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate from eCornell and T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies, New York, USA.

After her postgraduation, Rosemary took up work in the corporate sector. After working for about seven years, she had to move overseas with her husband and young son. With the birth of her daughter and another move to London, time was scarce and convenience food easy to come by. Ballooning weight soon became a concern, along with a host of other health issues, which she felt had to be lived with, until a chance attendance at a talk on whole food plant-based lifestyle opened up the possibility of a safe and sustainable path that could lead to weight loss.

Further exploration of this and a desire to provide a variety of tasty, healthy meals for her family led her to attend one of SHARAN’s 21-day health retreats at Swaswara, Gokarna. That for her was a truly unforgettable experience. The lectures by Dr Shah, dealing with the whys and wherefores of the lifestyle, convinced her about the compelling reasons for staying on this path.

She started seeing other benefits – remission of atopic dermatitis, reversal of food allergies, relief from IBS, brain fog, constant fatigue, joint pain and more, in addition to losing several inches. She is thrilled to often receive compliments from friends, family and neighbours on her very visible transformation. With more self-education about the lifestyle, she was convinced that her purpose was to spread the word about this and help improve the health of others too.

She attended the Facilitator Training Programme held by SHARAN and subsequently joined the SHARAN Team in Quality Enhancement. She is now also a resource person for the same programme. She cares deeply about the climate and sees this lifestyle as being totally aligned with the climate cause.
