French Beans Vegetables
Ingredients
For the Vegetable- 1/2 kg french beans finely chopped or cut lengthwise
- 2 tbsp grated fresh coconut
For the Tempering
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 1 tsp chana dal
- pinch hing
- ginger chilly paste to taste
- 1 red chilli
- 2 - 3 curry leaves
- salt to taste
- turmeric to taste
- 1 tsp green chilli paste (optional)
Method
Mix salt and turmeric (if desired) with the beans and steam, making sure that the green colour remains. In a heated kadhai add mustard seeds. When they splutter then add udad dal and chana dal. When the smell permeates add curry leaves and finally mix in the steamed vegetables, ginger chilly paste and fresh coconut. Serve hot.
