Last November, 10,000 people joined PCRM (Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine) to Kickstart their health with the free, online 21-Day Kickstart program for India. Their next program launches on June 4.

As you know, traditional Indian diets are being eroded by the influx of meat and processed foods. People are eating more fatty cheese and milk products than ever before. These unhealthful foods are driving obesity and diabetes rates through the roof. But the Kickstart’s healthful, dairy-free versions of traditional favorites make it easy to begin a healthier path.

Kickstart India provides a research-based roadmap to jumpstart weight loss, boost your health, and reduce the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and other health problems. And you’ll have fun and enjoy delicious, traditional and some new, Western-style foods along the way!

The program is based on the 21-Day Vegan Kickstart program that has helped more than 200,000 Americans lose weight and improve their health with a low-fat, plant-based, and dairy-free diet.

Kickstart India will give you 21 daily e-mail messages that provide you an all-access pass to:

Cooking demonstration videos by Dr. Nandita Shah, an Auroville-based physician

Wraps can be made with different ingredients according to your taste

What you need –

the base – this can be a large whole wheat base made with or without flavourings (tomato, spinach etc)

the spread – something which makes the wrap moist and luscious – hummus, avocado, vegan cheeses, vegan mayonnaise, coriander coconut chutney or any other of your favourite spreads

veggies – these can be grilled or raw or a combination

some spike (optional) – chilly sauce, onions, mustard etc

you can add marinated or grilled tofu if you wish

Heat the base on a tawa or non stick pan, using a bit of oil if you want it to be a bit crispy. When the base is roasted add in the other layers. Roll tightly like a Frankie and serve.
